Team Penske Unveils New Look for 2010 Season

February 23, 2010

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (February 23, 2010) - Team Penske unveiled its new look and feel for the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series season on Tuesday.

All three Team Penske machines will carry a sleek black and white color scheme beginning this season. The No. 3, No. 6 and No. 12 cars were revealed to the media following a season preview press conference and photo opportunity at Barber Motorsports Park, where pre-season testing will take place for all 2010 series participants on Wednesday and Thursday.

The new design of the Penske cars represents a change for open-wheel racing's most successful team. Longtime team partner Philip Morris USA is no longer sponsoring the No. 3 and No. 6 cars, so this season marks the first time since 1990 that a Penske car will not compete in the company's traditional red and white design. Both the No. 3 and No. 6 cars will continue to carry the Team Penske design to start the season while the No. 12 car will feature the Verizon Wireless livery throughout the year.

"This represents a change for us, but we are excited about competing with three cars this season and looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead for Team Penske," said Tim Cindric, Penske Racing President.

Cindric and drivers Helio Castroneves, Ryan Briscoe and Will Power all met the media and posed with their cars for photos. Testing is set to begin Wednesday morning at the picturesque Barber Motorsports Park road course.
