SPEEDWAY, Ind. (May 24, 2015) - Team penske drivers Juan Pablo Montoya and Will Power staged an epic battle over the final laps of the Indianapolis 500 Sunday, but in the end it was Montoya that claimed his second career win in the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing" and Team Penske's record 16th Indy 500 victory.

Competing in his second season for Team Penske, Montoya capped a great comeback day driving the No. 2 Verizon Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet. After starting 15th, Montoya dropped to the back of the field early after he suffered a damaged rear wing when his car was hit from behind by Simona de Silvestro. Montoya continued to rise through the field over the course of the 500-mile race and he, Power and Scott Dixon each took turns leading over the final 15 laps.

In the end, it was Montoya who had the final say as he passed Power and the No. 1 Verizon Chevy with two laps remianing and he crossed the finish line .1046 of a second ahead of Power for the fourth-closest finish in Indy 500 history.

"Yeah, it was fun. Our Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet was good all day," said Montoya. "These guys at Team Penske did an amazing job. When I came through the field, I knew I had a good car. That fight there at the end… that was awesome.”

The second-place result marked Power's career-best result in the Indy 500. Three-time Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves finished seventh in the No. 3 Shell V-Power Nitro+ Chevy while Simon Pagenaud had a strong car and ran at the front of the field before an issue with his front wing late in the race saw him drop to a 10th-place finish in the No. 22 Avaya Team Penske machine.
