Today marks Helio Castroneves’ third career Verizon P1 Pole Award at Long Beach. His first pole came in 2001 and he won the pole here last year as well
· Castroneves now has 47 Verizon P1 Pole Awards in his career, fourth on the all-time list
· This is Castroneves' ninth career pole award on a street circuit
· This marks his second pole of the 2016 season and his second consecutive pole as he topped qualifying at the Phoenix International Raceway oval last round
· Castroneves will be seeking his second career win at Long Beach. His last win at the venue was in 2001.
· Team Penske has now won the Verizon P1 Pole Award in 16 of the past 19 Verizon IndyCar Series races dating back to last this season.
· This is the 237th Verizon IndyCar Series pole position in the 50-year history of Team Penske and the 492nd pole in team history overall
