Recap: Simon Pagenaud and his No. 22 PPG Automotive Refinish Chevrolet team scored their sixth Verizon P1 Pole Award of the season with a track-record lap on Saturday in qualifying for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. It's his first pole win at Mid-Ohio and the eighth of his Verizon IndyCar Series career. Team Penske teammate Will Power held the track record briefly before Pagenaud posted a time of 1 minute, 3.8700 seconds for an average speed of 127.271 mph on the 2.258-mile road course. Power behind the wheel of the No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet timed in at 1 minute, 3.9381 seconds for an average speed of 127.135 mph. Helio Castroneves qualified his Hitachi Chevrolet in the seventh position with Juan Pablo Montoya and the Hawk Performance Chevrolet just behind in the eighth spot. It's Team Penske's 10th pole win of the season, 244th all-time in IndyCar and 501st overall in its 50th season of competition.
