TEAM PENSKE, CARLISLE BUILD ON SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP

November 11, 2016

MOORESVILLE, NC – Team Penske announced today that it has extended its partnership with Carlisle Companies (CSL: NYSE) as a sponsor for the team’s Verizon IndyCar Series program. Carlisle and Team Penske began their relationship prior to the 2011 season and they continue to enhance the strong bond between the two companies.

“As we began to explore race teams to become involved with it became clear that Team Penske was the perfect fit for us,” said Carlisle Chairman Dave Roberts. “Their brand is second to none, and they’ve had tremendous success in every motorsports series. We wanted to be with a proven winner and we could not be happier with how this relationship has grown.”

Under the terms of the new agreement, Carlisle will be the primary sponsor for four Verizon IndyCar Series races in 2017, utilizing the company’s Hawk Performance and DeVilbiss brands. In addition, Carlisle brands will continue to activate the partnership through marketing rights, at-track hosting events, business-to-business opportunities and cross-merchandising programs with other Team Penske partners.

Carlisle began its relationship with Team Penske as an associate partner on the No. 2 NASCAR entry driven by 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Brad Keselowski. The company was an integral part of eight victories over the course of the 2011-2013 seasons, culminating with Keselowski’s historic Cup Series title, the first in team history.

Following the 2013 NASCAR season, Carlisle made the transition to Team Penske’s winning IndyCar program, utilizing the Hawk Performance division on the No. 2 Dallara/Chevrolet driven by IndyCar, Formula 1 and NASCAR winner Juan Pablo Montoya. When Montoya won the 99th running of the Indianapolis 500 in 2015, Hawk Performance was featured on the car.

The relationship grew to include additional branding on the No. 22 Dallara/Chevrolet with driver Simon Pagenaud in 2015, highlighting Carlisle’s newly-acquired Devilbiss brand. As Pagenaud and the No. 22 Chevrolet team captured the 2016 Verizon IndyCar championship, Carlisle enjoyed more success with the Devilbiss brand featured on the title-winning Team Penske car.

“The partnership with Carlisle and their companies is unique and it has grown across multiple platforms with Team Penske,” said Roger Penske. “Carlisle is a company that understands how to maximize its partnerships in motorsports. Team Penske’s relationship with Carlisle has evolved from working with our NASCAR teams to becoming a key partner in our IndyCar program and the transition has worked well for their specific brands. We are excited to build on our success with Carlisle and Team Penske is honored to continue to represent its brands on and off the track.”

The 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season starts March 12 on the Streets of St. Petersburg.
