Recap: Will Power and the No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet team was the fastest among the Team Penske cars in Friday's Verizon IndyCar Series qualifying session for the Rainguard Water Sealers 600 at Texas Motor Speedway. The Aussie logged a two-lap time of 46.8553 seconds which translates to an average speed of 221.277 mph on the 1.5-mile track and good for a start from the ninth position for Saturday evening's race. Helio Castroneves timed in just behind Power in the 10th position with a time of 46.8716 seconds (221.200 mph) in his No. 3 AAA Chevrolet. Defending series champion Simon Pagenaud and the No. 1 DXC Technology Chevrolet team will roll off 12th after logging a time of 46.9470 seconds (220.845 mph) while Josef Newgarden will start his No. 2 Hum by Verizon Chevrolet from the 17th spot after posting a time of 47.1387 seconds (219.947 mph).
