Notes:

It was a challenging day at Mid-Ohio Sports Course for a final practice session and qualifying for the Verizon IndyCar Series’ Honda Indy 200.  Will Power and the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet were the fastest of Team Penske’s Chevrolets having a solid third-place run for the final practice session and ultimately qualifying second for Sunday’s race. Josef Newgarden and the No. 1 Hitachi Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet also put on a strong performance ending the final practice session running second and qualifying fourth. Simon Pagenaud and the No. 22 Menards Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet had a more difficult day after spinning on track during final practice. While they ran fast in practice, they were unable to find the speed they needed for a stronger qualifying result – qualifying ultimately in the 17th spot. The team will work hard this evening to find speed for tomorrow’s race.
