Notes:
Qualifying for the NTT IndyCar Series race at Long Beach proved to be truly exciting as all three of Team Penske's Chevrolets qualified as part of the Firestone Fast Six – with all cars starting in the first six positions. Will Power and the No. 12 Verizon Dallara/ Chevrolet stalled during the third practice session just hours before qualifying – but, that didn't slow him down as he ended up qualifying third for Sunday afternoon's race. Josef Newgarden and the No. 2 Hitachi Dallara/Chevrolet improved their results between practice and the qualifying session by a few spots, ultimately qualifying fourth. Simon Pagenaud and the No. 22 DXC Technology Dallara/Chevrolet found consistency once again after ending both of the previous day's practice sessions in the eighth position, to finishing the third practice session and qualifying in the fifth spot. The race on Sunday, April 14 will sure be one to watch as all three cars battle for a California drive to victory lane.
