MARTINSVILLE, Va. (September 18, 2008) – Sam Hornish Jr., driver of the No. 4 Penske Truck Rental Dodge Ram in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in conjunction with Bobby Hamilton Racing, qualified in the 16th position for today’s Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway.

Making his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series racing debut, Hornish posted a fast lap time of 20.118 seconds at a speed of 94.125 miles per hour. The effort secured the Penske Truck Rental team the 16th starting position this afternoon, the second-fastest of those required to qualify on time.

“I’m really looking forward to my first Craftsman Truck Series race,” said Hornish. “I’m having a lot of fun out there and I feel the extra time on track will provide me with valuable experience for tomorrow’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Martinsville Speedway is of my favorite places to race and I want to get to the point where we can really run well here.”

The Kroger 200 will air live on SPEED today beginning at 2:30 p.m. EDT. The race will also be broadcast live on MRN at 3 p.m. EDT.
