Allgaier Starts 21st at Dover International Speedway

May 30, 2009

DOVER, Del. (May 30, 2009) – Justin Allgaier, driver of the No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge Charger for Penske Racing, will start Saturday’s 200-lap event at the Dover International Speedway in the 21st spot.  This is the 22-year-old’s first start at the one-mile concrete oval

The No.12 Verizon Wireless Dodge made two circuits around the one-mile speedway in Saturday morning’s qualifying session. The Illinois native ran a time of 23.688 seconds which put him on the inside of the 11th row for start of the Heluva Good! 200 at the “Monster Mile” in Dover, Delaware.

“That was a solid lap for our Verizon Wireless Dodge,” commented Justin Allgaier.  “We picked up three-tenths of a second from yesterday’s practice session so I am pretty happy.  This track is really fast and your car really has to handle to have a chance to win.  [Crew chief] Chad Walter and all the guys on the Verizon Wireless Dodge worked their tails off yesterday, during practice, making changes to our Dodge and it really paid off.  We have to stay out of trouble all day and I think we will have another strong finish.”

The Heluva Good! 200 will be broadcast live today, on ABC TV, with coverage beginning at 2 p.m. ET. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.
