No. 12 Penske Racing Verizon Wireless Dodge Charger News and Notes
• This Week’s Charger…
The No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge team and driver Justin Allgaier will race chassis PRS-008 during Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Kansas Speedway. PRS-008 last saw action in June at Nashville Superspeedway. Allgaier started in the 24th position but battled all day to bring the Verizon Wireless Dodge home in the 13th spot.
• Welcome Back… Allgaier will be making his Nationwide Series debut at the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway this weekend, but this will not be the first time competing at the track for the series rookie leader. Allgaier has four starts in the ARCA RE/MAX Series at the Midwest speedway. He captured two top-10 finishes among his four races at Kansas.
• ROY Watch… Allgaier remains the leader in the Nationwide Series Rookie-Of-The-Year battle with seven races remaining on the 2009 schedule. The Riverton, Ill. native is currently 16 points ahead of Brendan Gaughan in the rookie standings after 28 of 35 events.
• New Teammate… For the first time in the 2009 campaign, Allgaier will enter a race with a teammate in the Nationwide Series.  Penske Racing development driver Parker Kligerman will pilot the No. 22 Penske Truck Rental Dodge during Saturday’s 300-mile event.
• Watch and Listen… The Kansas Lottery 300 will be broadcast live on Saturday, October 3 on ESPN2, with coverage beginning at 3 p.m. ET. The event will also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.

Justin Allgaier on driving at Kansas Speedway
“Kansas Speedway is a really fun mile-and-a-half race track. It requires determination, a good car and a great pit crew to be successful. The Verizon Wireless Dodge that we are running this weekend we feel will be a great fit for the high-speed, wide sweeping corners Kansas Speedway has to offer. The facility is second to none. I always enjoy going back to the Midwest. It is my home and I love going back and seeing all my old friends and family. With the end of the season drawing near, we really have to focus on the things that are going to help us prepare for 2010. However, we are still trying to get that elusive first win. We set goals for the 2009 season and the only one we haven’t met is to win a race. Hopefully, Kansas will help us mark that one off the list.”

Crew Chief Chad Walter on racing at Kansas Speedway
“I always enjoy going to Kansas. It is a really cool city and the race fans are second to none. I always make sure to stop in somewhere and get a bison burger. They are a real treat. Kansas Speedway reminds me a lot of Chicagoland. They are both great facilities that are conducive for side-by-side racing. The key to success at a place like Kansas is mid-corner stability. If you can get the car stable and turning in the center of the corners, it helps the exit.  We will work during the practice session to try and get Justin [Allgaier] comfortable. The track has a lot of speed, so being able to keep the car pinned to the bottom is critical.  We are also looking forward to having a teammate this weekend. I think having another group to bounce ideas off of will help us all be better.”
