October 10, 2009

Fontana, Calif. (October 10, 2009) - Justin Allgaier, driver of the No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge Charger, will line up in the 3rd starting position for today's 300-mile event at the 2-mile Auto Club Speedway.

In Saturday morning's qualifying session, the 23-year old ran a time of 40.157 seconds with a speed of 179.296 miles-per-hour. The time was good enough to put the Verizon Wireless Dodge on the inside of the second row for start of the Copart 300. This is Allgaier's second start at the southern California speedway. The Rookie-Of-The-Year leader finished 14th in his first appearance.

"The car felt great on both qualifying laps this morning," said Justin Allgaier. "[Crew chief] Chad [Walter] wanted me to run both laps, and we improved considerably on our second lap. We were a little loose in turn two, but the car feels good and I'm excited for this afternoon's race."

Coverage of the The Copart 300 can be seen live later today on ESPN2 with coverage beginning at 4 p.m. ET. The event will also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.
