Team 42 Racing News and Notes of Interest

• Penske Racing development driver Parker Kligerman will attempt to make his fifth career NASCAR Nationwide Series start this weekend in the Scotts Turf Builder 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
• Kligerman last drove the No. 42 Team 42 Racing Dodge Charger at the Nationwide Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where he qualified a season high 21st on the grid; however, his day ended early when he had a transmission failure on lap 92.
• In his last 25 stock car starts, including the Nationwide Series and ARCA, Kligerman has an average starting position of 9.7 and an average finish of 8.1.
• Kligerman is currently scheduled to compete in the next two Nationwide Series events at Bristol Motor Speedway and Nashville Superspeedway driving for car owner Eddie Smith in the Team 42 Racing Dodge.

• Kligerman made his debut for Team 42 Racing last November in the 2009 Nationwide Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 19-year-old driver had a solid outing in his second career Nationwide Series start driving the No. 42 Ironworks Dodge. He completed 198 laps of the 200-lap event and finished in 25th place.
• On October 3, 2009, Kligerman had a memorable Nationwide Series debut behind the wheel of the No. 22 Penske Truck Rental Dodge Charger at Kansas Speedway. Kligerman won the pole for the Kansas Lottery 300 and led the first seven laps of the race before earning an impressive 16th-place result.
• Kligerman finished second in the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series championship, as he came up just five points shy of the series title. He won series Rookie of the Year honors and led the circuit with nine victories as he posted 14 top-five and 18 top-10 finishes in 21 races.
• Kligerman, a native of Westport, Conn., is in his freshman year of college at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is planning a course of study in Business Marketing.
• The Scotts Turf Builder 300 will be broadcast live on the ABC television network at 2 p.m. ET. The race will also be broadcast on PRN Radio, as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.

"To me, racing at Bristol is the way the Creator intended stock car racing to exist! It is by all means a driver's race track, but preparation by the team is of utmost importance. High banks, a grippy but unforgiving concrete surface, the temptation to run higher on the race track than anyone else to find room, and the fast pace not only on the track, but of the weekend schedule produces a controlled chaos that in my mind is unequaled by anything else in our sport. No wonder they had to build so many seats. Parker's ability to run short track races last year on the ARCA circuit gives me confidence he will take to this place like butter on cornbread. I can't wait!"
