TALLADEGA, Ala. (April 25, 2010) - Parker Kligerman, driver of the Team 42 Racing Dodge Charger, drove like a man on a mission in the Aaron's 312 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday running inside the top-10 for much of the afternoon. Unfortunately, Kligerman was collected in a late-race incident, which resulted in a 31st-place finish.

 

Kligerman started the race from the ninth position on the grid after posting his season-best qualifying effort on Friday afternoon. He was able to advance to the fifth position by lap two and later noted that the engine temperatures were rising on the No. 42 machine. As a result, Kligerman was forced to drop out of the draft in order to get clean air to his radiator. Despite the setback, he was still able to run in the top 20 until the team's first pit stop.

As the race continued, Kligerman was running strong laps and taking care of his car. At one point, he was running in the second spot and pushed Penske Racing teammate Brad Keselowski to the lead.

Kligerman was running well inside the top-10 and feeling confident about moving towards the front in the final laps of the race when he was involved in a multi-car accident on lap 113. The No. 42 Dodge was damaged beyond repair and Kligerman's day ended with a 31st-place finish.

"The Team 42 Racing Dodge was great all day," said Kligerman. "We had a fast car; I was able to work very well with Brad. The crew did great on pit road and my spotter kept me out of trouble all day. I feel good about how strong we ran, it is just unfortunate that we did not get the finish we deserved. Our Dodge was fast today."
