Keselowski Qualifies First at Nashville Superspeedway
July 23, 2011
LEBANON, Tenn. (July 23, 2011) – Brad Keselowski and the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger recorded the first fastest lap time during the qualifying session for the Federated Auto Parts 300. He toured the 1.3-mile oval in 30.871seconds, or 155.47 miles per hour. Penske Racing teammate, Sam Hornish Jr and the No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts Dodge Challenger recorded the eighth fastest time by touring the oval in 31.074 seconds, or 154.431miles per hour.
"A great qualifying run for this Discount Tire Dodge Challenger. These guys on this race team have been working really hard and making a ton of progress over the last few weeks. It's a long race here tonight in Nashville. We've got a fast Dodge. We just need to stay away from mistakes and I think we have a real good shot at victory lane. This place means a lot to me. I got my first NASCAR win here back in 2008. It's a great track with great fans. It should be a really fun race." Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger
"Our Alliance Truck Parts Dodge Challenger was a little loose in qualifying today. We ended up eighth which means we will have to make some good adjustments to the car during the race. Anytime you have a race that transfers from day to night, the track will change a lot. Usually any issues you face during the day, you will still have when the lights come on just to a higher degree. This is one of the longest races of the year, so hopefully we can make them all count and bring the No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts Dodge home in first place." Sam Hornish Jr, driver of the No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts Dodge Challenger.
The Federated Auto Parts 300 will air live at 7:30 pm EST on ESPN. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite channel 90.
