No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger News and Notes
• This Week’s Challenger… Brad Keselowski and the Penske Racing Discount Tire Dodge Challenger team will use chassis PRS-211 during Saturday’s Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). This is a new chassis to the No. 22 fleet.
• The No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger in 2012... Following one points-paying event, Brad Keselowski and the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge team sit second in the NNS owner points standings following a second-place finish last weekend at Daytona International Speedway.
• Keselowski Climbing the Charts…By taking the checkered flag in the 2011 season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Keselowski claimed sole possession of 15th place on the NNS all-time wins list with 17 victories. Keselowski is now three wins away from tying Greg Biffle for 14th place on the all-time list.
• 2011 Rewind… The last NNS race at PIR saw Penske Racing finish one-two with Sam Hornish Jr. picking up his first NASCAR win. Keselowski followed up his second-place finish with a win the following week in the season-final event at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
• Keselowski Speedway Stats…In 101 speedway starts in the Nationwide Series, Keselowski has accumulated nine wins, 45 top-five finishes, 64 top-10 results and six pole awards. In addition, he has led the field for 1,643 laps at tracks between one and two miles in length.
• “Home” Field Advantage… Team sponsor, Discount Tire, is headquartered in nearby Scottsdale, Ariz. Employees of the corporation will make up a large contingent of Keselowski fans on Saturday afternoon.
• Meet Keselowski… Keselowski will appear at the Discount Tire store located at 13213 West McDowell Road in Goodyear, Ariz., on Thursday, March 1 beginning at 4 p.m. MT.

“I’m definitely looking forward to getting to Phoenix, especially with the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger. There are several reasons for that. My teammate, Sam Hornish, and I were able to run one-two the last time we were there. I had the best seat in the house to watch Sam pick up his first NASCAR win. In my opinion, and I may be biased, but I thought that race was one of the best of the year. They’ve built a really cool racetrack and it’s only going to get better as the pavement cures. The Phoenix area is also home to my sponsor, Discount Tire, so we always have a built-in fan base when we get there. Phoenix has always been one of my favorite tracks.”

“We started the season just how we wanted last weekend in Daytona. Now we go to some tracks that are Brad’s strong suit. It’s obvious, based on last year’s race, that we have a good Phoenix package. We definitely spent some time over the winter getting ready for everything past Daytona, specifically this weekend. We’re still building a notebook based on the new surface, but I feel confident that if we can continue to have good pit stops we can get Penske Racing another win in the desert.”
