No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger News and Notes
• This Week’s Challenger… Brad Keselowski and the Penske Racing Discount Tire Dodge Challenger team will use chassis PRS-222 during Saturday’s Alliance Truck Parts 250 at Michigan International Speedway (MIS). Keselowski drove this chassis to a third-place finish at Auto Club Speedway in March.
• The No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Challenger in 2012... Following 12 points-paying events, the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge team sits seventh in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) owner point standings following a 12th-place finish at Dover International Speedway two weeks ago with driver Parker Kligerman.
• Keselowski Climbing the Charts… By taking the checkered flag in the History 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, Keselowski remains in 15th place on the NNS all-time wins list with 18 victories. Keselowski is now two wins away from tying Greg Biffle for 14th place on the all-time list. He is also a former series winner at MIS.
• Three’s Company... Keselowski owns two NNS wins at MIS, the third track where he has produced multiple NNS victories (Charlotte and Nashville are the others). This weekend, the Rochester Hills, Mich., native will attempt to grab his third MIS win, which would give him more NNS wins at his home track than any other driver in the series. Keselowski also won two consecutive NNS races at Michigan in 2010 and 2011.
• Keselowski Speedway Stats…In 107 speedway starts in the Nationwide Series, Keselowski has accumulated 10 wins, 49 top-five finishes, 68 top-10 results and six pole awards. In addition, he has led the field for 1,781 laps at tracks between one and two miles in length.

“I think the Nationwide Series race this weekend, on the new surface, is going to be pretty awesome. It may be one of the best races of the year, in any series. It’s going to be like a restrictor-plate race. It will be crazy. Hopefully we’ll be able to lay some rubber down throughout the weekend so that we can use all of the lanes. It should be good for the Cup race, but the Nationwide race may take a little bit for it to widen out completely. We were able to win the last race for me in the Discount Tire Dodge, and it would mean a lot to do it again at Michigan. I think this team turned a corner with the win at Charlotte. Last year we didn’t win until Kentucky, and then won five more races before the end of the year. I think the Charlotte win can launch us into a similar stretch, and maybe even more wins than in 2011.”

“This is a big weekend for everyone on the Discount Tire Dodge Challenger team. We know how much Michigan means to Brad, so we’re all laser-focused to get him another win at his home track. We had an off-weekend while the Cup cars were at Pocono, but I don’t think very many of us took a vacation. We were all focused on getting as prepared as we can for this weekend because of the importance that is placed on running well at Michigan. We have a new surface this weekend, but it’s still all about momentum and keeping the car wound up the entire lap. It’s a big, wide racetrack that is very forgiving, which is the reason that it is a favorite of the drivers and teams.”
