Hornish Qualifies 11th for the Alliance Truck Parts 250
June 16, 2012
BROOKLYN, Mich. (June 16, 2012) - Sam Hornish, Jr., driver of the Penske Racing No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts Dodge Challenger, qualified 11th for Saturday afternoon’s Alliance Truck Parts 250 at Michigan International Speedway.
Hornish turned a lap of 38.281 seconds around the freshly resurfaced two-mile Superspeedway at an average speed of 188.083 miles per hour. Penske Racing teammate, Brad Keselowski qualified ninth in the No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge.
“Our Alliance Truck Parts Dodge was pretty good during our qualifying lap,” said Hornish. “Today is a little cooler and we have more cloud cover than we had in practice yesterday – hopefully it clears up as our car will be better on a hot slick track. It will be interesting to see how the racing groove opens up during the race. We will do our best to bring home a strong finish today for Alliance Truck Parts.”
The Alliance Truck Parts 250 coverage will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC on Saturday, June 16. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
