Hornish Qualifies 12th at Kansas Speedway

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (October 20, 2012) – Sam Hornish, Jr. and the No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts Dodge Challenger team qualified 12th for Saturday afternoon’s Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway.
Hornish wheeled his Penske Dodge around the 1.5-mile oval in 30.228 seconds at 178.642 miles per hour during Saturday morning’s qualifying session. Ryan Blaney will start 27th in the No. 22 Discount Tire Challenger.
“Our Alliance Truck Parts Dodge was a bit too free during our qualifying run.” said Hornish. “We had a pretty good car over the last couple of days of practice, though conditions are much different today. The new surface is still a bit of an unknown as to how the track will change over the race so we are going to do our best to keep up with it and bring home a strong finish.”
The Kansas Lottery 300 will air live at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN on Saturday afternoon. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM Satellite Radio Channel 90.
