Rain Cancels Nationwide Qualifying at Las Vegas
March 9, 2013
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (March 8, 2013) – Persistent rain resulted in qualifying being cancelled for the Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Brad Keselowski and the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang team will start from the sixth position as the lineup will be set by the NASCAR Nationwide Series rulebook, utilizing the 2012 owner point standings.
Penske Racing teammate, Sam Hornish, Jr., will start the race from the seventh position in the No. 12 Wurth Ford Mustang.
“Unfortunately we can’t do anything about the weather, but at least we are starting towards the front. I’m anxious to get the Discount Tire Ford on track in the morning,” said Keselowski. “Hopefully having some track time in the Cup car will give us an early advantage.”
The Sam’s Town 300 will air live at 4:00pm ET on ESPN2. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 90.
