Hornish Qualifies Fourth at Texas Motor Speedway
April 12, 2013
FORT WORTH, Texas (April 12, 2013) – Sam Hornish, Jr. and the No. 12 Alliance Truck Parts Ford Mustang team qualified in the fourth position for Friday night’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Hornish guided his Penske Ford around the 1.5-mile speedway in 29.519 seconds at 182.933 miles per hour during Friday afternoon’s qualifying session. Brad Keselowski will start fifth in the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang.
“We have a fast Ford Mustang,” said Hornish. “Our qualifying lap was just about as good as it could be – though I may have been carrying just a touch too much speed into Turn 3. We worked a lot more on our race car than we did our qualifying set-up in practice so we are happy with starting fourth in the Alliance Truck Parts car. I am looking forward to the race tonight.”
The O’Reilly 300 will air live at 8:00 p.m. ET tonight on ESPN2. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM Satellite Radio Channel 90.
