Hornish Will Start on the Front Row at Dover

June 1, 2013

DOVER, Del. (June 1, 2013) – Sam Hornish, Jr. and the No. 12 Wurth Ford Mustang team qualified in the second position for Saturday afternoon’s 5 – Hour Energy 200 at Dover International Raceway.

Hornish piloted his Penske Ford around the 1-mile speedway in 23.554 seconds at 152.840 miles per hour during the Saturday morning qualifying session. Joey Logano will start sixth in the No. 22 Hertz Ford Mustang.

“We feel pretty good about putting the Wurth Ford Mustang on the front row,” said Hornish. “I only took one lap, and a few of the guys went faster on their second lap, but the time was solid and I had a big moment in Turn 3 so I figured I’d apply some discretion and it paid off as a second-place start is one of our best starts this year. I am really happy with the effort, and all credit goes to Penske Racing and my crew guys for giving me a strong car.”

The 5 – Hour Energy 200 will air live today at 2:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM Satellite Radio Channel 90.
