Logano Leads Penske Racing Qualifying at Chicagoland

JOLIET, Ill. (September 14, 2013) – Joey Logano and the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang team qualified in the third position for Saturday afternoon’s Dollar General 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.
Logano drove his Penske Ford around the 1.5 mile speedway in 30.236 seconds at 178.595 miles per hour during Saturday afternoon’s qualifying session. Sam Hornish will start fourth in the No. 12 Wurth Ford Mustang.
“We are pretty happy with our qualifying effort,” said Logano. “This Discount Tire Ford team gives me great equipment every time that I run one of these Nationwide Series races. We won the spring race here at Chicago and with this team and this car we have a solid shot at doing that again today.”
The Dollar General 300 will air live at 3:30 p.m. ET today on ESPN2. Race coverage will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM Satellite Radio Channel 90.
