THE RACE REVIEW
    
· Making his first start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) since Darlington, Joey Logano qualified the No. 22 Hertz Ford Mustang on the pole for Saturday afternoon’s race at Dover International Speedway.  It was Logano’s 24th-career NNS pole.

· At the start of the race, Logano elected to take the high side, but slipped in turn three on the first lap and settled into second place.

· An early caution brought the leaders to pit road, but Crew Chief Jeremy Bullins elected to keep Logano out on the track to save a set of tires for the end.  The strategy worked out, as Logano pulled away to a huge lead, pacing the field for the next 58 laps before the second caution of the day.

· In the pits, the Hertz team had a solid pit stop, but lost a position, getting Logano out second.  With the leader taking the preferred outside lane, Logano slipped back to third, a position he would ride in for nearly the rest of the afternoon.

· Logano radioed in that the No. 22 Hertz Ford was fast and he needed only minor changes.  However, he could not make a move on second.

· Another couple of late-race cautions saw Logano again have to restart on the inside lane each time, causing him to lose a couple of positions.  Despite the bad restarts, Logano was able to race his way back up to third as the checkers waved.

· The No. 22 Team Penske NNS crew continues to sit second in the Nationwide Series Owners’ Championship, 48 points behind the No. 54 from Joe Gibbs Racing.

YOU WEREN’T ABLE TO GET YOUR FIFTH WIN IN A ROW.  WHAT WAS THE DECIDING FACTOR OUT THERE TODAY?

“We never really had good restarts on the inside and we didn’t have a good enough spot or start to be able to pass cars on the restarts. Our Hertz Ford Mustang was just too loose. Every time I would get to someone, I would get more and more free and if I was able to get under them, I was too loose to clear them. It was kind of frustrating out there. I thought we were going to have a shot at Kyle (Busch), but he got ahold of his stuff and was able to pull back away and I couldn’t get close to anyone. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and we will give it another shot in the fall and hopefully a couple years from now we will be sitting in the same spot again going for five in a row.”
