Brad Keselowski Unveils No. 22 Fitzgerald Ford Mustang

March 17, 2016

While en route to Fontana, Calif. for this weekend’s Auto Club 400 race – a race that he won last season – Brad Keselowski made a pit stop in Byrdstown, Tenn. on Thursday to unveil the paint scheme for the No. 22 Fitzgerald Glider Kits Ford Mustang, a new partnership for Team Penske in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS). While there he signed autographs for employees, participated in a Q&A session and gave the people in attendance a taste of what an NXS car sounds like up close by revving the engines.

The first race for the Fitzgerald Ford Mustang will be at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) in April with driver Joey Logano. Keselowski will jump behind the wheel at a race to be announced soon.

The Penske name is widely-considered one of the premier names in the transportation industry, so the opportunity to partner with the leading manufacturer of glider kits seemed like a natural fit. Glider kits are new, over-the-road chassis and frames with rebuilt engines and driveline systems customized by Fitzgerald.

“The partnership between Team Penske and Fitzgerald is very unique,” said Keselowski. “It’s very interesting to see Roger Penske, who is this transportation mogul and loves the trucking industry, partnering with someone, like Fitzgerald, who makes trucks. It just seems so natural and motorsports is the common theme we can use to tie everything together.

Also in attendance for the announcement were employees from BMS as they also announced that Fitzgerald Glider Kits as the new entitlement sponsor of the spring race at “The World’s Fastest Half Mile.” As a Tennessee-based company with many race fans as their employees, it seemed like a natural fit for Tommy Fitzgerald, Tommy Fitzgerald Jr and all of the family members.

In 2015, Joey Logano piloted the No. 22 Ford Mustang to a win in the spring race at BMS. He will now get a chance to repeat by winning the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 in the No. 22 Fitzgerald Glider Kits Ford Mustang.
