Team Penske eSports eNASCAR Heat Pro League Race Report

Track:                  Virtual Dover International Speedway
Race:                   Round 3 – NASCAR Xfinity Series
Date:                   May 6, 2020

No. 2 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Mustang – Brian Tedeschi (ShellVPower22)

Console: Xbox One
Start: 4th
Finish: 14th
Status: Did Not Start
Laps Completed: 0/70
Points: 10th (-63)

Notes:

  • Brian Tedeschi (ShellVPower22) qualified solidly in the fourth position for Wednesday night’s eNASCAR Heat Pro League event at virtual Dover International Speedway, but a technical issue kept the former eNHPL race winner from making any laps in the event.

Quote:

“I’m still not sure what happened at the start of the race. I feel terrible because we qualified well, and I know the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford would have raced well. I’m sure we’ll have a talk with the league about it. It won’t destroy our season because we have three more segments to win and qualify for the championship.”

No. 22 Wurth Ford Mustang – Corey Rothgeb (Wurth_2)

Console: PlayStation 4
Start: 7th
Finish: 5th
Status: Running
Laps Completed: 70/70
Points: 9th (-24)

Notes:

  • Corey Rothgeb (Wurth_2) picked up his first top-five finish of the 2020 eNASCAR Heat Pro League season during Wednesday night’s event at virtual Dover International Speedway.
  • The Waynesboro, Va., native was also strong in qualifying, picking up his best starting position of the year to roll off from the 15th position for the 70-lap race.
  •  Rothgeb kept his Wurth machine on the fringe of the top five through each pit stop and used a strong rally over the final laps to score a fifth-place finish.
  • The next race for the eNHPL will be Wednesday, May 13 when the series will race in the NASCAR Cup Series at virtual New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Quote:

"That was the best No. 2 Wurth Ford that I’ve had so far this year. We were able to qualify much better than I had in the first two races, and I think I had better than a fifth-place car. It wasn’t the best night on pit road. I lost some spots there, but it was great to finally get a top five on the year. Now we need to keep getting better and challenge for a win.”
