Detroit powers DJR Team Penske for Phillip Island SuperSprint

November 16, 2015

STAPYLTON, QUEENSLAND, 16 November 2015: After scoring a season first podium at Pukekohe in New Zealand just two weeks ago, DJR Team Penske head to Phillip Island with a bold new livery on the No 17 Falcon FG X. The colours of Detroit Diesel will be seen for the first time in 2015 at the spectacular Victorian circuit.

Detroit Diesel has been part of the Penske Automotive Group since 2014. The brand has been seen on the #17 DJR Team Penske Ford Falcon FG X since the beginning of the 2015 season featureding on the rear wing, but this weekend’s penultimate round of the V8 Supercars Championship sees Detroit Diesel as naming right partners aboard the team’s Falcon. Detroit Diesel joins Penske brands Western Star Trucks, MAN Truck and Bus and MTU as part of the unique rotation system DJR Team Penske has employed this year.

“DJR Team Penske has partnered up with many of the key Penske brands during the 2015 season. Featuring the Detroit Diesel brand is another opportunity for customers and staff to be a big part of our race weekend at Phillip Island. At every event we have enjoyed support from all our major partners but the individual rotation of the Penske brands has seen many new people at the race tracks. This has been a great program for the team and our fans, and I’m sure we will see many Detroit guests over the weekend.” said DJR Team Penske Managing Director, Ryan Story.

The President of Penske Transportation Group International, Randall Seymore added “We are thrilled to have Detroit Diesel as the naming rights sponsor for DJR Team Penske for the Phillip Island round.  Detroit Diesel On-Highway engines are synonymous for market leading warranty, reliability and superior fuel economy.  Phillip Island provides a great opportunity for us to showcase the Detroit Diesel brand to all V8 Supercar fans, our customers and staff.”

The Detroit DJR Team Penske Ford Falcon FG X was loaded into the transporter today for the trip to Victoria and will be in action at the WD-40 Phillip Island SuperSprint.
