Gold Coast, QLD, 6 June, 2016:  World leading coatings and specialty products company PPG will launch a new branding era when it highlights its Taubmans paint brand as primary partner with the No 12 DJR Team Penske at the next round of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship in Darwin. The Fabian Coulthard Ford will feature Taubmans and PPG branding which will also see for the first time PPG push their brand into the retail space. The Taubmans by PPG Ford sets off a major corporate change for PPG across a strong portfolio of brands.

This announcement continues to showcase the synergy that the Australian based DJR Team Penske V8 Supercars team shares with its USA based Team Penske NASCAR and Indy Car teams. PPG has been an associate sponsor so Team Penske for over 30 years, and has seen beneficial technical alliances develop within the USA and Australian based teams.
 
Across their diverse global operations, Penske Corporation and PPG Industries share a similar philosophy of delivering unrivalled customer service and support, while at the same time the pair share a mutually beneficial high level relationship. PPG were at the forefront of producing a special Xbox 'green' for the DJR Team Penske's assault on the 2015 Pirtek Endurance Cup and has been the primary paint supplier to Dick Johnson Racing for many years.

The CrownBet Triple Crown Darwin round takes place at the Hidden Valley Raceway on June 17 to 19.
