Practice Recap: The DJR Team Penske Fords of Fabian Coulthard and Scott Pye have finished the opening two practice sessions with mid field results. Hot and humid conditions faced the field as teams used the day to set up for the all-important Qualifying on Saturday for Race 1.

Fabian Coulthard was the highest finisher for the team in fifteenth overall in the Sharp Ford, after improving from his first practice session position. In the sister No. 17 WM Waste Ford, Scott Pye finished the day in twentieth spot as both drivers sought to extract a better balance and more speed from the DJR Team Penske Fords.

Fabian Coulthard Quote: "We have been trying to make the Sharp Ford better in each session but at the moment it is the best we have. We are struggling for some corner rotation and going back to the soft tyre has not helped here."

"We made some gains on the green tyre and I made a small error between Turns 9 and 10 and lost a little bit of time, but not the chunk we are missing."

Scott Pye Quote:  "It sounds like both cars have similar weaknesses here although Fabian has a different set up to my WM Waste Ford. It has made it very hard to extract a good lap time. I imagine we are going to make a bunch of changes overnight as we head to Qualifying."

"We ran two sets of green tyres so to end up P20 is very disappointing. I think Friday can be a good indication of where you are so we need to turn it around tomorrow."
