Recap Race 2: An improved Qualifying position for Fabian Coulthard ensured the No 12 MightyMite Falcon was a contender from the race start. Coulthard capitalized on his front row position and blasted into the lead of the race. Although his start was reviewed by the stewards it was deemed legal and he would hold first position until the first round of pit stops. A Safety Car just one lap later did not help his overall track position for the second part of the race. The lead group settled into a race long battle with Coulthard recovering passing Waters and Van Gisbergen to latch onto Winterbottom's bumper challenging for second. In the end he crossed the line in third place to record another podium for DJR Team Penske.

Scott Pye also made good progress and to ensure his fuel fill would be complete took an extra stop under the Safety Car period. Like the Saturday race, Pye had great car speed in the race and moved up steadily braking into the Top 10 on Lap 36. He picked off a number of cars, and worked his way to sixth. A closing David Reynolds was attacking the No 17 MightyMite Ford and with Scott running low on brakes, he ran wide at the second last corner of the last lap and dropped to seventh. A fine recovery none the less.

Fabian Coulthard Quote: "Today has been really good. It was a massive role reversal to turn it around from yesterday. To come from where we were to the podium in the MightyMite Ford is a real credit to all the hard work the boys are putting in. DJR Team Penske is only in its infant stages so we have got a long way to go but the light at the end of the tunnel is bright."

"My start was good. I am a Leo, it was those cat like reflexes! The boys told me it was under investigation but I didn't question it. We had some good car speed but my second set of tyres was not quite as good as the first. But overall a very pleasing result."

Scott Pye Quote:  "The MightyMite race car was really fantastic. We had one of the quickest cars over the race but we just started too far back. We need to really focus on a Qualifying set up that suits me so we can capitalize on the speed race car has. We are still finding our feet, but in the race the crew are nailing the strategy. If we can start further forward I feel we will really be able to use the pace we have got. All in all a good recovery and some good championship points."
