Race 2 Recap: Fabian Coulthard has steered the MAN Truck & Bus Ford into a fine fourth place in the 200km final race at the Sydney SuperSprint. Qualifying saw both MAN Fords in the Top 10 with Scott Pye in eighth and Fabian one row back in tenth.

At the green light, both drivers surged forward with Fabian passing Scott and moving into seventh. The cars ran line astern until Scott pitted on Lap 10. The No 12 MAN Ford would run longer before the first stop and went to Lap 15 before peeling off into the pits.

This separated the cars on track, however Scott was not happy with the balance of his car and was falling back to the bottom of the Top 10 before he took his second stop on Lap 29.

Fabian was running strongly and as the field sorted out after all the second stops he was right in the mix, passing a number of cars to move into sixth. This became fourth when Moffat and Van Gisbergen tangled at the hairpin on Lap 47.

Pye meanwhile had battled hard in traffic to bring the second MAN Ford home in fifteenth place.

Fabian Coulthard Quote: "We have worked hard all weekend on the MAN Ford and today's result is good for the whole team. It really was important to get a good start and get in front of Scott, just in case there was any double stacking in Pit Stops.

"A good start and being aggressive in the opening laps set our race up well. We ran long again before the first stop which caused some pain, but there were other people in trouble with tyres as well so it was well judged. We are not coming away empty handed and the weekend has helped our development."

Scott Pye Quote "We had a very tough day in the MAN Ford. The car did not feel as responsive as yesterday and the tyre degradation seemed far higher. We started OK, but from the first Pit Stop onwards I was really defending more than attacking.

"The conditions were different from Saturday but I did not expect to see such a big performance gap. We will need to look at all the data from the weekend when we get back to the workshop as Fabian seemed to have some good pace today."
