Fabian Coulthard & Tony D'Alberto - No. 12 Shell V-Power Racing Ford

Recap: Coulthard had a strong run all day, with practice marred when he was turned around by Shane van Gisbergen at turn 1. Fabian qualified 5th, with Tony starting Race to the Grid 1 from that position. He raced clean and smart, handing the car back to Fabian in 7th position. In Race for the Grid 2, Fabian had a sensational start and leapt up to 5th, staying there until late in the race when, battling an understeering car, Fabian again played it smart to let Mostert by to lock in a 6th place start for tomorrow's 500km race.

Coulthard Quote: "Not a bad day at all today. Tony did a great job, bringing the car back straight for me to have a go in the second race. I got a great start, and then just took no risks. It's a long race tomorrow, and we've got plenty of racing ahead of us. Looking forward to tomorrow."

D’Alberto Quote: "It was a solid day today for us. Obviously, we would have liked to get a bit further up, but starting sixth in a long race like tomorrow's is very good. We'll tune it up a bit overnight, we learned a lot in those two races and have a big crack tomorrow."

Scott McLaughlin & Alex Prémat - No. 17 Shell V-Power Racing Ford

Recap: McLaughlin was on it from the get go today, finishing second in final practice before repeating the feat in provisional qualifying. Alex then did a great job in Race for the Grid 1, running great pace throughout to finish 2nd with a straight car. Scott again started from p2, got a strong start to maintain position and then lock in a front row start for the big race tomorrow.

McLaughlin Quote: "Solid day. No points today, that all happens tomorrow. I'm pretty stoked. I got off the line well, maintained position and finished strongly. There's still plenty of work to do for us, but we're in a great position for tomorrow's race."

Premat Quote: "I felt good today, the car felt pretty nice and I was happy to be able to finish second and give the car back to Scott in good condition. I am excited to go racing tomorrow. We have a fast car, with a good team and I think we have a good chance."
