In 2024, Laurens Vanthoor returns to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) as he begins his second season with Porsche Penske Motorsport (PPM). Vanthoor will continue to drive the No. 6 Porsche 963 LMDh entry, racing alongside drivers Kevin Estre and Andre Lotterer.
In 2014, Vanthoor showed what he was capable of as he won the Spa 24 Hours and clinched overall victory in the Blancpain Endurance Championship and the Blancpain GT Series. The Belgian continued to produce in the 2016 season when he scored a spectacular win in the FIA GT World Cup in Macau. In the Intercontinental GT Challenge, he also secured overall victories in the Dubai 24 Hours and the Sepang 12 Hour race.
For the 2017 season, two dreams came true for Vanthoor – he became a Porsche works driver and he drove the 911 RSR in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in North America.
In 2018, Vanthoor added another impressive achievement to his resume as he scored a victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Belgian followed that up with his greatest career achievement in 2019. Teamed with Earl Bamber, Vanthoor secured the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTLM title behind three race victories.
In 2020, Vanthoor and Bamber claimed the first class victory for the Porsche 911 RSR at Laguna Seca. Vanthoor was also part of the winning trio at the Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hour race.
In 2021, the Belgian racer clinched the GTD title in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Last season, Vanthoor helped post PPM's first-ever WEC podium result as he and Andre Lotterer finished third in the Six Hours at Portimão. At the Six Hours at Fuji, Vanthoor and the No. 6 Porsche 963 led the majority of the race before securing another third-place podium result.
Vanthoor also served as endurance driver in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar season finale at Road Atlanta when he joined Nick Tandy and Mathieu Jaminet in the No. 6 Porsche 963.
Vanthoor and PPM will look to produce more top WEC finishes this season.
